The Tianjin Summer Davos office, Tianjin Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs, and the Ronglian International service company hosted activities together to invite 50 foreigners to talk about their impressions of Tianjin.
More foreigners are now visiting Tianjin with the development of the city. David Lecomte who has been there for six years is a mathmatic teacher from the Sino-European Institute of Aviation Engineering. He spoke fluent Chinese to talk about the changes in Tianjin. He said there are more green yards and public parks in the city, and the traffic and public service systems have improved at all levels.
Lee Kitchen who is a professor in the Tacoma Community College is also a guest professor at the International business school in Tianjin Foreign Language University. Professor Lee uses the words "new", "old" and "love" to describe Tianjin. "People from this old, Chinese and Western style city are full of love," he said.
Alexander Klymenov who is the head coach of Tianjin's women's water polo team expresses his love for Tianjin as well. He said the girls from the team are industrious, earnest, and strong-willed all of which represent the spirit of Tianjin people.
The discussion with foreigners will last till September. The activity helps to build international images of Tianjin and give foreigners have a deeper understanding of the city.
