On March 5, the CPC Youth League Tianjin Committee and the Tianjin Youth Volunteer Association started recruiting volunteers for the 2014 Davos Forum that will be held in Tianjin this September, enorth.com reported.
This March 5 marks the fifteenth China Volunteers Serving Day. Tianjin chose this day to launch the recruitment to promote the spirit of “service, friendship, mutual help and progress”.
This year’s forum will recruit a total of 890 volunteers, among whom 380 are forum volunteers, 430 are city volunteers, and 80 are etiquette volunteers. The three groups of volunteers have different duties. The forum volunteers will serve at the exhibition center, which will be the venue of the summit. The city volunteers will offer services at airports, train stations, and hotels where the participants will stay. The etiquette volunteers will serve the guests of the forum.
Most of these volunteers will be recruited from students who are studying in local higher institutions. There are also some basic requirements that applicants must meet.
Firstly, the applicants must be working, studying, or living in Tianjin and are willing to serve the forum as volunteers. Secondly, the applicants should be older than 18 years old (born before August 31) and should be both physically and mentally fit. The applicants must obey the laws in China and have no criminal record. Thirdly, the applicants must promise to attend the training sessions required by the summit preparation committee. Fourthly, the applicants must have the knowledge and skills necessary to offer proper services. Fifthly, the applicants must obey the rules set by the preparation committee and accept the leadership and management of the committee. Finally, those with prior experience in volunteering services are preferred.
This year’s recruitment will be on-line, from 9 am March 5 to 6 pm March 14. Applicants should log onto http://www.tjzyz.org to complete their online registration. There will also be a link on http://www.tj-summerdavos.cn that leads visitors to the registration site.
