Bulgarian president Rosen Plevneliev visited the Zhongguancun Science Park on Jan 13, and was received by Zhou Guolin, the deputy director of the administrative committee of Zhongguancun.

Zhou gave a presentation about technological innovation in Zhongguancun and said that there is much potential for cooperation between the two countries. He also said China is looking forward to increased cooperation with Bulgaria, with the assistance of the president.

After the visit, Bulgarian president expressed his admiration to the "great innovative achievements" made by the Zhongguancun Science Park and said that – only 35 years after the start of its reform and opening to the outside world - China is already an innovative country. He also expressed his interest in deepening scientific cooperation between the two countries.
