Professor Ola Winqvist and other delegates of Sweden's Karolinska Institutet (or Karolinska Institute in English) recently visited Zhongguancun Demonstration Center and signed a strategic cooperation agreement on technical exchanges with the International Technology Transfer Center of China, the Zhongguancun Core Biological Engineering and the New Medicine Industry Alliance.

The Karolinska Institute is a top-ranking medical university in Europe, an international leader in scientific research - and the Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet is a body which awards the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. Haidian Science Park pushed forward the institute's goal to establish Beijing Hanchuang Huarui International Biological Technology Ltd, and helped it to enter the International Technology Transfer Center.

The newly founded company will focus on project matching with the Chinese Medical Technology Commercialization Center, and the Biological Engineering and New Medicine Industry Alliance – and all these efforts aim to accelerate the commercialization of research findings in the medical field.

In September 2013, the National Technology Transfer Zone and the Chinese International Technology Transfer Center officially started operation. By the end of November, they involved 52 institutions that aim to facilitate internationalization - such as the Sino-Italy Technology Transfer Center and the Portuguese Shibo Innovative Management Consulting Company - covering an area of 12,000 square meters.

The National Technology Transfer Zone and the Chinese International Technology Transfer Center have benefited from the Beijing International Technology Transfer Conference, Beijing Communication Summit and other approaches, to cooperate with nearly 100 enterprises, promote 33 international technology transfer cases, and increase trade volume to 279 million yuan ($46.09 million). The two technology transfer institutions play an important role in international resources.
