Sanmenxia heads meet with Ctrip delegates

Yang Shuping, the Party secretary of the city of Sanmenxia, Henan province, and Zhao Haiyang, its vice-mayor, met with a delegation from Ctrip.com International Ltd, the largest online travel agency in China, led by Guo Dongjie, the company’s senior vice president, on Dec 26.
Yang opened the meeting by welcoming the guests and discussed some of the new trends in tourism locally and related e-commerce with them, describing the tourism development in recent years as well as the city’s history, culture and landscape, which provide opportunities for tourism development. He went on to explain improvements that are important to the industry’s development.
Yang and Zhao said they hope Ctrip.com, which represents new industries in this new age, will come up with new concepts for Sanmenxia tourism.
Guo responded by saying that Ctrip.com will cooperate in every way possible with the city’s tourism units.
Ctrip.com was established in 1999 to open the Internet to tourism and provide travel services for both business and leisure. It is now a travel giant with more than 100 million registered members and sales of 80 billion yuan ($13.18 billion) per year.
