The China Taiyuan Coal Transaction Center |
The China Taiyuan Coal Transaction Center went into operation on Feb 23, 2012 and has developed into a coal market with a large number of domestic dealers and large volume, thanks to its innovative spirit and continued improvements. And, in spite of sluggish global and domestic economies and a depressed coal market, is has come to play a major role in trade efficiency and lower costs for coal deals through its advanced trade site and services, and Shanxi province's resources, policies, and logistics.
Coal sales of the Shanxi companies are already done online and, by Dec 6, 2013, the center had 7,138 dealers registered, 2,527 of them Shanxi companies and 4,611 from outside the province. In the Jan - Nov period of 2013, the center handled 1.291 billion tons of coal deals, worth of 845.9 billion yuan. This past May, it started the Coal Trade Price Index (CTPI), the only coal price index in China, in response to market trends.
