Chengdu to host Motor Show 2013 in August
Chengdu Motor Show 2013 (CDMS), one of the top four auto shows in China, will be held at the Century City New International Convention & Exhibition Centre from August 30 to September 8, and will showcase diversified and advanced auto technology and industry trends.
The 10-day CDMS 2013 is expected to receive over 600,000 visitors, and it will occupy all the nine halls in the exhibition center, covering an exhibition area of 140,000 square meters. There will also be an outside display area for second-hand cars of high-end brands.
CDMS is organized by Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd and Century City New International Convention & Exhibition Center Ltd, and aims to become a world-class auto show. It also receives support from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Auto Sub-council and the Society of Automotive Engineers of China.
China's auto market grew in the first half of the year, and automobile manufacturers from Germany, Japan, the US and South Korea – in addition to domestic brands - are all seeking opportunities to expand.
Several international manufacturers - DYK, Beijing Hyundai, Saic Motor, Audi, BMW, Infiniti and Benz - will each have an exhibition area covering about 2000 sqm. Three of these brands, DYK, Beijing Hyundai and Saic Motor, have nearly doubled the size of their booths compared to last year's event, underscoring the importance of the event among the automakers.
The show is open to the press and trade visitors during the first two days, and will be open to the public from September 1 to 8.
