A new calling card for Chengdu: Tiexiangsi Temple Water Street
Tiexiangsi Water Street |
Located on Tianfu First Street in the Chengdu Hi-Tech Zone, Tiexiangsi Temple Water Street, a new pedestrian tourism sightseeing street, recently opened to the public.
The traditional Chinese-style water street's design gives visitors a taste of old Chengdu. It is named after Tiexiangsi Temple because it adjoins the ancient temple built in the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644).
Like Kuanzhaixiangzi Alley, another tourist attraction for meeting, dining, drinking and enjoying fashion and culture, the water street is a characteristic culture street combining both Western and Chinese culture.
The water street was built along the Xiaojiahe River and features bridges with historical names.
The street is a new landmark in Chengdu Tianfu New District that demonstrates Chengdu's lifestyle and the city's international and modern aspects. Folk art performances will be held there until the end of June to celebrate the street's debut.
