SHANGHAI, Oct. 15, 2012 (Xinhua) -- People attend the ceremony to mark the founding of New York University (NYU Shanghai) in Shanghai, east China, Oct. 15, 2012. As China's first Sino-U.S. university operating as an independent legal entity, New York University and the Shanghai-based East China Normal University (ECNU) will jointly operate the institution.
