JAC, one of the two major automobile manufactures in Anhui province, held a sporting event on October 18, 2012 to showcase the strength of staff members from around the world and boost the morale of its employees.
JAC (Jianghuai Automobile Co., Ltd.) is one of the Top 10 auto makers in China. In 2011, it made 40 billion yuan ($6.3 billion) in sales with 500,000 automobiles. It is ranked No 249 on China's Top 500 list, numbering 6 in Anhui province, East China, and first in the provincial capital of Hefei.
During the opening ceremony, JAC President An Jin said: "Through the pioneering work of our employees, JAC now owns two listed companies and its automobiles are being sold to more than 100 countries and regions in the world."
Delegates from JAC headquarters, domestic subsidiaries and branches overseas joined the 5th JAC Sports Games, an event that started in 2002.
Mr. Victor Serdio, a foreign employee from Costa Rica, expressed his high hopes for JAC by saying: "[JAC] is already very good, and it's only going to get better and better in the future."
At the opening ceremony, audiences viewed a lavish performance, including a show performed by JAC's own racing team, the JAC Lightning Professional Driving Team (LPDT), winning thunderous applause from all present.
Team Coach Zheng Shang said their team is one of the few racing groups that represent China in exhibiting China's professional driving skills overseas to foreign leaders. So far this year, they have attended 13 different events.
President An Jin expressed his pride in LPDT, saying: "[LPDT] is not only representing the quality of JAC, but also China."
JAC's company motto is "Better Products, Better World" and their goal is to "Serve the global market, and benefit mankind." So far, the number of its staff is near to 20,000.
