WACKER, a global producer and technology leader in silicone and polymer chemistry, has invested $56 million USD in Lujiazui as of now.
WACKER began evolving into a global player during the 1950s. Its products were first introduced to mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan by distributors in the 1970s. WACKER soon gained a good reputation in several application areas thanks to its outstanding quality and cutting-edge technology.
In 1992, it began to acquire direct access to Greater China. By the end of 2008, WACKER has built up a strong direct presence in Greater China with activities ranging from production and sales to technical support. It now has two technical centers (in Beijing and Shanghai), four production sites (in Nanjing, Wuxi, Zhangjiagang and Shunde) and eight sales offices (in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shunde, Hong Kong, Taipei and Hsinchu).
Each of the Group’s five divisions are active in China’s key industries electronics, constructions, coatings, life science to automobile, transportation, chemicals, energy and electrical engineering. WACKER’s products and technologies help to improve daily life in China. They contribute to the sustainable development of the region.
