China Metal Recycling, listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (00773.HK) in 2009, is the biggest metal recycling company in China. The company now recycles 3.1 million tons of metal a year with operations in South China, East China, North China and Central China. It mainly recycles waste steel, bronze and other metals, using advanced crashers to separate useful metal elements from waste and catering to different market needs. The company has recycling factories in Guangdong, Jiangsu and Hong Kong.

Since the company was listed in 2009, it has set up a national network of purchasing, sales and logistics. The company has seen rapid annual growth in the Chinese market. It has effective recycling and logistics systems with advanced equipment in South China, East China, North China and Central China. In addition to its businesses in vehicle and ship dismantling, the company also applied for licenses in home appliance dismantling in 2011 for factories in Guangdong, Jiangsu, Tianjin and Zhejiang. It also plans to introduce advanced management concepts from overseas and follow national policies of the recycling industry.

The company mainly intends to integrate its markets across the country, building a platform with 5 million tons of annual output in metal processing, vehicle dismantling and waste iron dismantling. It also plans to build up an online trade platform in Tianjin to further integrate the market and enhance price transparency.

The metal recycling industry in China has great growth potential. China is the biggest metal consumer in the world, using one-third of total metal resources. The fast industrialization and urbanization will lead to a huge market demand for metal resources. After 30 years of reform and opening-up, there will be huge amounts of waste resources returning to the market. The company understands the timing and sees promising prospects in the recycling industry.
