The Forum of Frescos Conservation and Research in China and Italy, sponsored by the Shaanxi History Museum and Cooperative Development Office of the Italian Embassy, was held in the Shaanxi History Museum from March 28 to 30.
Nearly 100 delegates from the Roman Preservation and Restoration Center, the Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage, Peking University, etc. attended to discuss how to better protect ancient frescoes.
Cheng Jianzheng, director of Shaanxi History Museum, reviewed the protection of frescoes and treasures dating back to the Tang Dynasty in the Shaanxi History Museum, saying the work symbolizes the cooperation between China and Italy in the protection and research of ancient frescos.
New digital technology used in their preservation and digitization, repair technology, and unique styles of the frescos were the main focus of the discussion.
