Left-behind women, children in Shaanxi get help

Shaanxi Provincial Women's Federation and Shaanxi Shuangchi Trading Company visited left-behind women and children in Binxian county on Jan 4, 2012.
Fifty poor children and women will receive rice, flour, oil, blankets and other daily necessities along with cash, valued at 8 million yuan.
Liu Lige, head of Shaanxi Provincial Women's Federation, said the provincial women's federation is actively committed to protecting the rights of women and children across the whole province.
Binxian has nearly 30,000 left-behind women and more than 20,000 left-behind children.
Liu called on the government, women's federations at all levels, and the whole society to concentrate more to help women and children who are left behind.
Li Jianmin, CPC Party Security of Binxian, appreciated the efforts of Shaanxi Provincial Women's Federation and Shaanxi Shuangchi Trading Company. Li said Binxian would take this act as an opportunity to help make the lives of women and children better.
Wang Yun, a 39-year-old woman, showed her gratitude and said that she would work harder and make a positive contribution to society.
Meng Wei, a student, said he would study harder and serve the country when he grows up.
