The Juvenile Class of Xi'an Jiaotong University is a famous juvenile class aiming at piloting education reform and selecting extraordinary students. The class was approved by the Ministry of Education in 1985 and after 26 years of practice, it has gradually formed a system of selecting, training and follow-up training”.

The Juvenile Class takes the education mode of "2 +4 +2 + X", which means two years of foundational education, four years of undergraduate education, two years of postgraduate education, and uncertain years for doctoral education.

Applicants for the class should be more than 15 years old with extraordinary intelligence and innovative potentials, according to officials of Xi'an Jiaotong University.

The school will recruit 100 to 130 students nationwide for the Juvenile Class this year, said Song Hongxia, deputy director of the Admissions Office of Xi'an Jiaotong University.
