Incubated in the Zhongguancun Science Park and established with organizational and industrial alliance standards, the IGRS Industry Alliance is engaged in the formulation, popularization and industrialization of the IGRS Standard.
In July 2003, with the support of the Ministry of Information Industry, the IGRS Standard Workgroup was founded by eight leading enterprises – Lenovo, TCL, Konka, Hisense, Skyworth, Changhong, Great Wall and Intervision. In May 2005, backed up the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Science Park, the IGRS Information Industry Association was set up to be a neutral legal entity of the IGRS Alliance.
The Intelligent Grouping and Resource Sharing (IGRS) Standard specifies the switching technology and interface of the next generation network information devices. Guaranteed by the communication and content security mechanisms, it supports smart connection, resource sharing and collaboration services among a variety of 3C devices (computer, consumer electronics and communication devices) The standard realizes a brand-new network architecture that features "3C devices + network operations + contents/services" to create a sound profit model for future terminal equipment suppliers, network operators and network content suppliers. It also offers customers highly qualified information and recreational services.
In February 2010, the IGRS Standard was officially released by the ISO Central Secretariat as the first international standard in the 3C collaboration field across the globe.
