On October 30, 2002, Datang Telecom Technology and Industry Group, Holley Group Co Ltd, Huawei Technology Co Ltd, Lenovo (Beijing) Co Ltd, ZTE Corporation, China Electronics Corporation and China Potevio Information Industry Corporation jointly initiated the TD Industry Alliance (TDIA) in an effort to promote the industrialization process of TD-SCDMA and to facilitate the development of TD-LTE.
The alliance is responsible for creating an environment of materials supplied by multiple manufacturers and to bring enterprises into the third generation mobile communication market in a steady manner.
TDIA is committed to spreading TDD technology worldwide, integrating and coordinating industrial resources, boosting the sound development of the communication industry based on TD-SCDMA, TD-LTE and its evolution technology, and enabling TDIA members to achieve win-win development results.
TDIA aims to become a significant industry association in order to accelerate the growth of China and the world's mobile communication technology and industry on the basis of TDD technical innovations.
TDIA is mainly responsible for advancing and improving standards on TD-SCDMA, TD-LTE and its evolution technology. It also manages the TD industry, stimulates inter-company resource sharing and mutual benefits, and provides advice to the government about the drafting of industrial policies in favor of the development of TDD mobile communication technology in order to enhance the group competitiveness of TDIA members.
