Aid education fund ceremony held in NW China city

XI'AN - The distribution ceremony of educational aid given by the Zhongdeng Group was held in Xi'an on August 16.
Zhongdeng Group sponsored 80 freshmen from 7 cities in 27 counties this year. Every freshman will get 10,000 yuan ($6,570) over four years. They will get 4000 yuan in the first year, and then 2000 yuan every year for the remaining three years.
During the ceremony, the recipients read out their letters of commitment, promised to study hard, gave a collected report of their studies to the company. Meanwhile, the students promised to take part in at least two public welfare activities each year and finish at least 20 hours'voluntary community service.
Cui lipeng, one of the recipients, is from Changwu Middle School. He was admitted by Nanjing University of Technology, but his family was too poor to support his life in the university. His middle school helped him make contact with the Zhongdeng Group. He got help after his selection. and said that he would try his best to study hard, and repay society.
Zhongdeng Group has donated 1000 million yuan'to the charitable education fund of the Shaanxi Charity Association over five years. Every year they will help 80 students to the value of 800,000 yuan. This is the second year they have helped the fund.
