Dalian Party chief appointed to new post

Xia Deren was appointed deputy secretary of the provincial committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) of Liaoning province on Monday at a meeting in Dalian.

Xia, born in 1955 in Dalian, had been working as Party chief of Dalian since 2009.

Liaoning’s Party secretary Wang Min announced the decision made by the CPC Central Committee at the meeting.

Tang Jun, born in 1962 in Jiangsu province, was appointed to take over Xia’s previous post. Tang formerly served as director of the personnel department of the CPC Liaoning committee.
