Fujian news exchange group visit China Daily HK office

HONGKONG - A Fujian news exchange group visited China Daily Hongkong office on Tuesday. The two sides reached an agreement on raising the voice of Fujian province globally with the help of the new platform China Daily Asian edition and Taiwan edition.

The delegation was led by Zhu Qing, vice-minister of Fujian Provincial Party Committee Publicity Department. Members included Wang Zhan, deputy chairman of Fujian Radio, Film and Television Group, Lin Xianyuan, deputy director of Fujian Provincial People’s Government Information Office.

The exchange group was organized by Hu Meidong, the head of China Daily Fujian Office.

"After years of hard work, HK edition has become a diverse platform. The circulation of HK edition in Asian areas surged after the launch of Taiwan and Asian edition," said Zou Hanru, deputy editor-in-chief of China Daily HK edition.

"Last year, HK edition organized 'Asian media see Guangdong', which made a brilliant achievements. We can also organize the same kind of activity in Fujian as Fujian’s international reputation has greatly improved by its rapid economic growth and large-scale Haixi construction," Zou added.

Zhang Yu'an, also the deputy editor-in-chief of HK edition introduced that HK edition cooperated with 22 Asian major medias within the Asian Press Alliance. Now it aready covers Southeast Asian countries, India, Australia etc. It also set up an Asian Leaders Round-Table Forum in the hope of getting access to Asia-Pacific high-end readers.

China Daily is a diversified platform which consists of print media, electronic media and Mobile phone/iPad electric post news letter. As a national English media, it will more effectively help Fujian foreign publicity work get into the Asian-Pacific region and the world’s mainstream medias.

Zhu Qing is highly affirmed China Daily HK edition's status and also its great achievements been made over the years. He indicates that the establishment of China Daily Asian edition is an effective platform to Fujian. He hopes Fujian will have closer cooperation with China Daily in the future.
