More than 900 worldwide sales and retail giant, 503 global consumer electronics companies and hundreds of industry experts are gathering in Qingdao, a coastal city in east China, to participate in the 2010 China International Consumer Electronics Show (SINOCES) which kicks off on July 8.
About 100,000 visitors are expected in the following four days.
Undersecretary of Department of Commerce Jiang Yaoping said China's electronic information industry has made great progress during the 30 years of reform and opening up.
"At present, China has become the world's largest consumer electronics manufacturing base and the second-largest consumer electronics market. Chinese government will create more effective policy support and development platforms for the consumer electronics industry." Jiang said.
Foreign pavilions from the United States, Great Britain, South Korea, Japan and Israel participated in the exhibition, giving high praise to the show.
Joseph Abraham, director of International Investments Promotion Center of State of Israel, said that since China has a vast consumer electronics market and adequate manufacturing capacity and research and development force, the Israeli government and enterprises are looking forward to cooperating more in the consumer electronics industry with Chinese government and enterprises through this exhibition, to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
Phil Wyithe, head of the UK Trade & Investment Department, indicated that UK Trade & Investment organized more than 20 exhibitors and would hold "The Sino-British Joint Innovation - Enabling Industry in the Future" seminar, with a view to seek more cooperation with Chinese enterprises in the consumer electronics industry. Finally, he said that the 2010 SINOCES is very impressive.
The 2010 SINOCES hosts ten featured zones, including a 3D flat panel display zone, Green Zone, government procurement zone, home appliances to the countryside zone, 3G telecommunication zone, industrial design zone, e-commerce zone and Integration of Three Networks zone.
The exhibition area covers 40,000 square meters with 1,550 booths, becoming the largest one since the inception of the first SINOCES.
With the theme of "Convergence and Innovation", the 2010 SINOCES will exhibit new technology, new products and future living style.
Besides a government procurement zone, it will also hold a summit forum on Chinese information construction and government procurement, initializing the first connection between the largest-scale government procurement and the biggest consumer electronics show.
Moreover, SINOCES is organizing 20 Summit Forums, where government officials, industry experts and managers will discuss the industrial trends, the integration of three networks, innovation, government procurement and regional cooperation.
