U.S. firm sets up 3rd Hope school, in Sichuan

A new Project Hope primary school was completed in Zhongjiang County, Sichuan province， last Friday, financed by Brady China, a US-based company.

Schools in Zhongjiang were heavily damaged in the magnitude-8 earthquake in 2008.

Officials from the county government and Bureau of Education delivered their heartfelt gratitude to Brady China at the completion ceremony，which also marked the establishment of Brady China's Grants Advisory Committee.

Funds for the committee will come mainly from donations of the staff of Brady China and Brady Corp Foundation.

A certain sum of money would be set aside as a charity fund to provide continuous aid to education in China, which had been put into this year's budget by the company, according to the speech made by Welson Zhou, vice president of Brady North Asia, at the ceremony.

It was the third Hope school to be built by Brady China, the previous two being in Shaanxi and Anhui provinces.

Brady has attached great importance to supporting the development of education, which is consistent with the company's goal of investing in tomorrow's leaders, according to Allan Klotsche, vice president of Brady Asia Pacific.

"Today's education may dominate a country's future. Whether in China or in the US, people pay great attention to education," said Michelle Wen, chairwoman of Brady China Foundation.

"In China, the educational resources in rural areas are far more backward than those in urban areas, which hamper children's education in poor and remote areas. That is why we have established three primary schools for them."
