China Daily to publish newspaper for Universiade

China Daily became an official media partner with Universiade 2011 Shenzhen this afternoon after signing a cooperation agreement with the organizing committee of the biggest sports event for world university students. The national English newspaper has been authorized to publish the English version of the Universiade Daily during the event in August 2011.

Liang Daoxing, vice chairman of the organizing committee, said the close partnership with a group of eight selected media would attract more focus to Shenzhen and improve the image of the southern city domestically and globally.
The Universiade Union was also established Friday afternoon, which was composed of 20 sponsors of Universiade 2011 Shenzhen and eight media partners, to serve as a platform for the best use of different resources.
