Liaoning Friendship Awards handed out

The Liaoning provincial government presented the 2009 Liaoning Friendship Award to 43 foreign experts for their contributions to the economic development and social progress of the province on September 22.

Twenty foreign experts received the Liaoning Foreign Experts Honorary Award. The experts come from Germany, Japan, USA, France, Russia and Belgium.

According to the provincial government, 29,000 foreign experts are brought in every year as international talents and intellectual exchanges are key to the extended opening up of the province.

The Liaoning Friendship Awards, the highest award presented to foreign experts, were established in 2002. So far 157 foreign experts have won the award.
