Updated: 2009-08-20 17:05 Taiwan will display its many tourism features and highlights next month at the 5th “Strait Tourism Expo”, to be held at the same time as the 13th China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT) on September 8 in Xiamen. The expo is co-organized by travel agencies from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau under the theme “Strait Tourism, Win-Win Cooperation”. Travel agencies and tourism enterprises in central and south Taiwan will attend the expo, hosting exhibition units featuring scenic spots, holiday resorts, theme parks, agriculture and sightseeing. It will be a new highlight for Taiwan compared with past expos, according to Chen Yangbiao, deputy chief of the Fujian Travel Bureau. A “West Strait Exhibition Area” for Fujian and 11 other cities in the west strait will be added to the expo to present their scenic spots, holiday resorts and natural reserves. Enterprises from the world of golf, homes, cars and luxury yachts will also be included.. The expo will change the old model of exhibiting single tourist resources and add tourism enterprise exhibitions to display and sell to citizens in Xiamen and neighboring areas. The organizing committee worked with the Taiwan Leone Travel Agency to create the exhibition, which is regarded as the biggest highlight of the expo. The 5th “Strait Tourism Expo” is hosted by the National Tourism Administration and Fujian government and undertaken by the Fujian Travel Bureau and Xiamen government. |
