By Zhu Chengpei and Zhang Xiaomin (China Daily Dalian Bureau)
Updated: 2009-06-11 11:03 Bringing a theme of “Vitality under challenges”, the Seventh China International Software and Information Service Fair (CISIS) is coming to Dalian, Northeast China's Liaoning province, from June 18 to 21. This year’s CISIS will discuss measures to reduce the effect of the global financial crisis on the software industry, according to Jiang Qinyu, director of the Dalian Information Industry Bureau, at a news briefing on Wednesday. Jiang said the fair will hold relevant forums and activities to help exhibitors overcome current difficulties such as the reduction of orders, staff redundancies and obstructed financing channels. In addition to the International Software and Information Services Forum and Entrepreneurs Summit (the main forum) six themed activities will be held during the fair: China Software Independent Innovation Forum, China International Software and Information Service Outsourcing Summit (CSIO), an education forum, an investment and financing forum, a copyright protection forum, and a conference covering policies and tendencies. The only state-level IT fair, CISIS is playing a more and more important role in promoting China’s software and IT information service industry, Jiang said. According to Jiang, 30 exhibition delegations and 20 visiting delegations from almost all the Chinese provinces will attend the fair. Multinational IT giants like Intel, Microsoft, IBM, and SAP will build an IT Global Village in the fair to show their vitality and energy amid the global financial crisis. Government officials and business leaders from more than 30 countries are being invited to attend the fair, said Jiang.
