Pupil chalks up 1,000 yuan of credit
(China Daily)
Updated: 2009-01-14 10:49 A pupil in Ziyang county, Shaanxi province, was recently exposed for racking up nearly 1,000 yuan ($147) in bills at a shop in his school. Gao, the father of a 12-year-old pupil, received a phone call from Wu Chengcui, the shop owner and wife of a school management employee, asking him to pay up for the bills his son had accumulated on credit. "I do not know why they encouraged the kids, not only my son, to consume on credit and we farmers have no ability for such consumption," Gao later told the media. Ming Bo, vice-principal of the school, said Wu was wrong to encourage the children to consume on credit and the school had ordered her to stop granting it to the pupils. |
