An inaugural ceremony is held to celebrate the official opening of Metok Highway in Metok county, Southwest China's Tibet autonomous region. Metok county, with an population of 11,000, is China's last county with no highway link. Snow and rain make the mountain roads impassable for more than half the year, and it takes about 10 hours to walk through the mountains. The 117-km Metok Highway, linking Metok and Bome counties, will dramatically shorten the time. [Photo/Xinhua]
