Less than 900 days since the area was devastated by a deadly mudslide, the newly built Fengdie New District in Zhouqu county, Northwest China's Gansu province, has been transformed into a modern picture-perfect neighborhood. By November, 108 of the 170 reconstruction projects in mudslide-hit Zhouqu county have been completed with 4.56 billion yuan ($732.34 million) investment, accounting for 90.9 percent of the planned investment. Zhouqu county was devastated when a mudslide roared down the slopes of a nearby mountain on Aug 8, 2010 following days of heavy rain, leaving 1,765 people dead or missing. [Photo/Xinhua]
