Ye Xingguo (R) holds a letter from Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao brought by Yang Jianping, Vice-Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Ye is the chairman of the owners committee of Amoy Gardens, a high-density private housing estate in Hong Kong and the most seriously affected location during the 2003 SARS outbreak, where more than 40 people died and more than 300 were infected. He took part in disinfection and cleaning work during the outbreak of SARS. Ye wrote a letter to express his gratitude to Premier Wen, who visited families of the people who died of SARS in the complex in 2003 and showed his concerns over Amoy Gardens during the National People's Congress this year.
