A fishing boat sits on a dry river bed on one section of Poyang Lake, China's largest fresh water lake, in Jiangxi province, on Sept 4, 2011, after a severe drought. The water level of the lake declined, shrinking the water area to 1,340 square kilometers, less than half the average 3,419 square kilometers measured during the same time of past years.
