The Smurfs leave Potter blue at the box office

As the summer vacation approaches the end, the box office war enters into its final sprint. Under huge pressure from Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The Smurfs grossed 88 million yuan in its first week since it was initially released on Aug 10, 2011. The movie beat Harry Potter to the top stop and aroused a new round of interest and comments from China’s post 80s generation, who remember the animation from their childhood.
