Monks test their firefighting skills
Two monks compete in putting on their firefighter uniforms in Hangzhou. On Aug 20, 60 monks from 11 temples and institutes of Buddhist studies took part in a firefighting competition at Lingyin Temple, or Temple of Soul's Retreat, in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province. It helped monks enhance their ability to protect themselves and their temples, most of which were made of wood. [Photo/Xinhua]
