Heshun Library still standing after 80 years

The main building of Heshun Library in Tengchong county, Southwest China's Yunnan province is well-preserved, Aug 11, 2010. Heshun Library, located in Heshun of Yunnan province, was established in 1928 with donations from Chinese immigrants in Myanmar. Many people from Heshun went to live overseas, and Tengchong county became famous early in the 1930s for being China's No.1 cultural county. The library has six reading rooms, four stack rooms and collection rooms, with a collection of 80,000 volumes, among which over 10,000 are ancient and rare books. In addition, many famous writings, works of calligraphy and painting are also preserved here. Heshun Library was listed in the 6th batch of state-level major cultural relic preservation sites in May 2006 and draws many visitors.[Photo/Xinhua]
