Int'l aids rush to reach quake-hit Haiti

Rescue team members from Taiwan get ready to head to Haiti, after an earthquake hit there, at Taoyuan Airport January 13, 2010. A major earthquake hit impoverished Haiti, toppling buildings in the capital Port-au- Prince, burying residents in rubble and causing many deaths and injuries. Haiti's Rene Preval said on Wednesday he feared thousands had died in the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that wrecked the presidential palace, schools, hospitals and hillside shanties, leaving the Caribbean nation appealing for international help.
