François de la Chevalerie (Jumma)
I am a French-Belgian citizen but I was raised in Mexico. In general, I am mainly interested in physics, chemistry, astronomy, culture and history.I have been in China for seven years now.I currently live in tiānjīn (bīnhǎixīnqū) and Qingyuan (Guangdōng) along with long stays in Europe.
Not in any way, I am a businessman in a restrictive sense.I rather describe myself as an entrepreneur passionate by the sustainable environment issues, in particular, the treatment and recycling of the sediment, the clean up of hazardous materials (asbestos, lead, etc.) and the disinfection challenges in the food chain industry.
Beyond my professional activities, I just fell in love with China where I like to go through the cities and the countryside in a way to get a better understanding of its culture and - at this end - to find out the Chinese soul.
On the road, I enjoy strolling all over China striving for the constant search of a real emotion with an in-depth sense of adventure.
In my Chinese lifetime, I toured many places, all worthy of consideration.Beyond and above mere professional aspects, sometimes an unexpected human light arises amidst harsh business talks.
Sometimes an unforeseen smile crosses the face of an uncompromising interlocutor as there to remind that life is beautiful and everyone is doing his best to ensure that greatness.
Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by a surge of emotion.I am neither a journalist nor a China expert. However, I am an avid reader of Chinese poetry as well as books upon the Chinese history.
Anyway, since three years, I am telling stories in French and English in which I narrate my daily experience - I will say - my journey in China.
