Should parents push children to take up extracurricular classes?

Most children don't know what is good for them so they have to be encouraged to take an interest to develop skills later in life to be a good member of society. Children have to be forced to do what they don't like, my daughter hated study I punished her if she did not students, she is first year medical student, she understands hard work gives results.
