The six episodes of the Rule of law in China, a prime time documentary TV series broadcast by China's Central Television, covering the legislature, governance, jurisdiction and law-abiding citizens, showcased the achievements that have been made since 2012 in establishing the rule of law in the country.

At a time when a number of problems have arisen amid the country's rapid economic and social transformation, the central authorities have promoted the rule of law as an essential guarantee for the lasting stability and security of China.

The documentary series highlighted some basic principles indispensable to the rule of law such as the protection of the civil rights of individual citizens as well as the healthy development of the market economy, and it presented vivid examples of the deepening of the rule of law in China since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012.

It showed that with the advancing of the rule of law, everyone, no matter their wealth or status, is equal before the law.

The series attracted a large audience, because it succeeded in showing the close links between people's interests and the advancing of the rule of the law by means of scientific legislation, strict law enforcement, fair judicial justice and law-abiding citizens.

More important, the series conveyed the message that nobody can be a bystander to the deepening rule of law, and everyone has the duty and responsibility to be a law-abiding citizen; implementing the rule of law should be a consensus and conscious act of everyone.

In fact, raising people's awareness of the law as the documentary sought to do is of great importance to the nation, as the rule of law, along with the deepening of reforms and the strengthening of the Party's self-discipline, is essential to realize the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
