After two months' inspection work in the civil aviation industry, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China has announced the results on its website. The central discipline inspection authority said in its report that the special inspection has found many problems that violate the law and Party discipline.
The inspection of enterprises and organizations in the sector exposed serious problems of corruption, according to the report. Some departments take advantage of airlines and airline schedules for personal gain and some officials even abuse their power of examination and approval in order to gain bribes and transfer interests to aviation companies that have special relationships with them.
Many officials of the Civil Aviation Administration of China have been probed during the special inspection period.
Anti-corruption experts told the media that the central discipline inspection authority has begun to change regular inspections into special inspections, which indicates that anti-corruption work in China has entered a new stage. In the next stage, anti-corruption inspections will be conducted more frequently.
