Just the other day, following my wife's suggestion, I went for a haircut. The hairdresser told my wife, "I'm going to charge 15 yuan because you are Chinese. If he had come alone, I would have charged him 30 yuan like to the other "laowai"".
Anyways 15 or 30 the price is still cheap. In any hairdresser shop in Barcelona, for example, you would never get it for less than 100 or 200 yuan.
Sometimes my wife doesn't want me to appear "on stage" until she has fixed the price.
