My mother was like this, is still like this, actually. All through my life, she was behind me like this malevolent shadow, telling me what to do, what to wear, what to think. She never let me make my own decisions, claiming I couldn't possibly choose things for myself. When I got older, I tried to tell my mom to back off and let me live on my own, but then she always got insanely angry. She is firmly convinced that she is the best mother in the world. She sacrificed her happiness and her career to raise me, and bought me all the toys a kid could want. I guess that is a noble venture... but she has forgotten to live herself.
