Comment on Huang Xiangyang's column "Tenuous links in our chain of glory" (China Daily, April 5)
I think we should bear in mind that Kenyans feel proud of Barack Obama, "their" US president, and the Irish feel proud of "their" former US presidents Bill Clinton and Ronald Regan.
Gary Locke is doing a job for the US and he should look after his employer's interests at work but he is still Chinese American. Why can't we claim "tiger wife" Wendi Deng, who was born in China anyway, and Jeremy Lin.
What's wrong being proud of "Chinese" ancestry? Americans still speak "English" and many Latin Americans still speak "Spanish" and many Canadians still speak "French".
So let us all relax and enjoy whatever and whoever we are and be proud of it.
