The shoe attack on industry tycoon Ren Zhiqiang at a forum in Dalian shows public anger over skyrocketing housing prices could have become stronger, says an article on Rednet.cn. Excerpts:

The shoe attack may have interrupted Ren, but he continued his speech and even said the attacker was economically inferior to even housing slaves, that is, people who cannot afford the down payment to buy a house.

Ren was right, because more and more people in cities are finding life more difficult than housing slaves. They don't have hundreds of thousands of yuan to dish out the down payment for a house.

Let's try to understand the anger of these people who are "inferior to housing slaves". They have low incomes, little support from their parents and no idea how to raise a family without buying or renting a new house. Worst of all, they seem to have lost hope, too.

The anger vented on Ren was not personal. It was against the real estate bubble that has benefited a few billionaires and multi-millionaires and some officials.
