(July 27, 2008)

I was so overjoyed at the delightful coincidences lately. When I started this blog on the 25th of July, the day happened to be the very day when the Chinese Delegation to the Olympic Games was established. Similarly, today, July 27, is my birthday and it coincides with the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Village! I feel so lucky and am so happy at this.

I was scheduled to take part in today’s opening ceremony, so I got up at 6:30 am to dress myself up. The suit I wore to the ceremony was borrowed from our coach since I , like some of my other teammates, hadn’t got the outfit yet. Although it was not my exact size I was so happy wearing it.

When we arrived at the Village, we were greeted with the renewed Village, which I can only describe with one word: beautiful. This is the third time I have attended the Olympic Games, and therefore this village is the third Olympic village that I have ever been to. Indeed, I felt it to be the best of all the three! Green lawns, blue sky, bright five-starred red flags coupled with the neat and orderly operation provide us and athletes from all other countries a perfect environment to stay during the Games.

Coinciding with the day of the opening of the Olympic Village makes my birthday much more meaningful! I really enjoyed it, simply beyond comparison. At the end of this dairy, I want to thank you all for supporting me. Here are some pictures of the new village I have taken today. Hope you enjoy them!
