SANTIAGO -- Chilean marathoner Roberto Echeverria travelled on Wednesday to Bolivia for high-altitude training to get ready for his participation in the Beijing Olympic Games.
Echeverria's goal is to carry out high altitude training at Bolivia's Cochabamba city, 2,558 meters above sea level.
Chilean marathon athlete Echeverria headed to Bolivia accompanied by his coach Jorge Grosser, among youth athlete Victor Aravena seeking to obtain the minimum score in the 10,000 meter competition at Poland's world junior competition in July.
Echeverria will train in Bolivia until May 13. "The idea is to train at high altitude since it strengthen capabilities for long distance events. We expect he will arrive well trained to Beijing, " said Grosser prior to travelling.
