With the 2008 Beijing Olympics coming closer, more composers are submitting songs in the hope of becoming the official Olympic theme song.

One of them, "Forever Friends" is attracting more attention than most. The composers announced the song's completion on Thursday.

"Forever Friends" was written by Chinese pianist Kong Xiangdong and Italian music producer Giorgio Moroder, and is sung by famous Chinese singers Coco Lee and Sun Nan.

Moroder is credited with the world-famous 1984 Los Angeles Olympic theme song "Reach Out", the 1988 Seoul Olympics' theme song "Hand in Hand", as well as "Un'estate Italiana" for the 1990 Football World Cup.

Moroder's long-time friend Kong Xiangdong said that this song combined traditional oriental flavor with Western passion. Both Moroder and Kong Xiangdong are confident they will win the competition for the 2008 Beijing Olympics' theme song.
