Children in the "Samsung Anycall Hope School Science Tour" visited Beijing, as part of the South Korean company's support to Project Hope - a charity that builds and improves primary schools in China's remote rural areas.

Samsung has given 9 million yuan since 2004 to build 45 Hope Schools in poor regions. In addition to buildings, Samsung donates resources for children and teachers to view and be in touch with the high-tech world.

Samsung has organized a program for students and teachers of Hope Schools to visit Beijing every year since 2005 to join a science tour.

As an Olympics partner Samsung also promotes the Olympics spirit among Hope Schools.

"Since the Games will be held next year in Beijing, this year's tour highlights Olympics elements," says Roh Kihak, senior vice-president with the telecommunication business of Samsung Electronics Co Ltd.

Nearly 100 participants from four Samsung Hope Schools visited Olympic venues, including the National Stadium, known as the Bird's Nest, and the National Aquatics Center, known as the Water Cube, and watched a competition called "Good Luck Beijing".
