Security personnel will be exchanged every three months among amusement venues in Beijing to prevent retaliation as they may displease others in work, according to the municipal public security bureau.

If managers of the amusement venues think those who have done well, they should apply for a three-month delay to exchange the guards, said Qian Jin, a police officer with the Beijing Public Security Bureau.

Security guards, who are allowed to have plastic batons or other protective equipment, can directly report the cases of fightings or drug abuse at amusement venues to police without notifying managers, Qian said.

About 830 out of 1,004 amusement venues in the city have employed 4,300 qualified security guards, according to Qian. By the end of August, all amusement venues, such as karaoke bars and discotheques, will have security guards.

In the run up to upcoming Olympic Games, Beijing has tightened security service and stipulated each amusement venue should employ at least two security guards to improve management and security for clients.

All Security guards should be trained before being employed, according to a new rule.
