GUATEMALA - The International Olympic Committee (IOC) approved the Juvenile Winter Olympic Games project on Thursday in Guatemala.
The IOC Juvenile Winter Olympic Games project was presented by IOC president Belgium native Jacques Rogge.
"The Juvenile Winter Olympic Games will be held for the first time in 2010 at a city yet to be designated in 2008," an IOC member said in a press conference.
IOC's projects foresee some 3,500 athletes between 14 and 18 years of age will be able to participate in 2010 Juvenile Winter Olympic Games.
Rogges said that the project is still a general draft. IOC's spokesman Giselle Davies told the media this project still has to undergo plenty of work.
Six unnamed countries hope to host the 2010 Juvenile Olympic Games.
