The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Game of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) has started to train venue doping control managers (VDCM) for the 2008 Olympics, according to BOCOG Games Services Department.

Up to 1,000 professional doping control personnel are needed for the Games, and each competition venue will have a doping control station comprising a doping control manager, a venue coordinator, a chaperone coordinator, and a number of doping control officers, blood collection officers and chaperones. Playing a core role in the anti-doping work, the VDCM should have abundant experience, organizational and managerial capabilities, teamwork spirit and communication skills. Those who go through the process of training, rehearsal and examination and are awarded a qualification certificate can be assigned the job.

The department said the Beijing Games will see the highest volume of doping control tests and cover the vastest test areas in the history of the Olympics. A total of 29 training workshops have been planned before this year's "Good Luck Beijing" test events start in August.
